Rebaone Update – Community Charity
Thanks to iceCUBED charity program; ‘Resources’. And, of course, your help. Rebaone was in the Donald Gordon hospital all of last week.
At first he received blood and platelets and then they inserted a port for future receipt of bloods and medicines.
With the port in place they do not need to put in intravenous lines every time he is admitted. They administered blood and medicine through the port.
Rebaone has benefited greatly for the donations. They have gone to assisting his transport costs for the taxi-bus to school and back. They have also helped his family with money for groceries and living expenses.
Your continued support is most appreciated and needed. Click here to donate.
Rebaone Nkuyagae is 8 years old. He has an aggressive terminal disease: Aplastic Anaemia. His blood has stopped producing red and white blood cells. He can’t be cured.
To add insult to injury, there is no treatment available in his town. Rebaone lives with his single mother. She lost her job, they have no income.
“The more you have, the more you are occupied, the less you give. But the less you have the more free you are. Poverty for us is a freedom. It is not mortification, a penance. It is joyful freedom. There is no television here, no this, no that. But we are perfectly happy.” – Mother Teresa.
